Join the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) for Summer on the Square: Past, Present, and Future, in McPherson Square this Saturday, July 22 for a celebration of art, history, and culture made possible in part by a generous grant from Humanities DC to the DowntownDC Foundation.
This free, summer event will run from 12pm-6pm and features an art exhibition by No Kings Collective, showcasing their unique artistic creations. Visitors can participate in a painting class, hear live music performances and learn more about the history of downtown.
For those interested in delving into the city’s rich past, the DC History Center will present a throwback photo exhibit, allowing attendees to explore the District’s history through captivating visuals. Moreover, an augmented reality experience will provide a modern twist to the event, inviting visitors to engage with the city’s heritage in an interactive and immersive way.
More than just a weekend event, Summer on the Square aims to foster dialogue, engagement, and creativity among attendees, facilitating learning and connection-building for a brighter future.
