The DowntownDC Foundation on May 11 released its Fiscal Year 2025 Impact Report (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025), in a new, expanded format to best highlight its continued investment in homeless services, Downtown DC’s parks and public spaces, and events and programming for the whole community.
FY2025 highlights include:
- 33 Welcome Home Kits provided to individuals transitioning from homelessness into housing—the most in a single year since the program began
- 850+ overnight backpacks and 600+ catered holiday meals distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness at the Downtown Day Services Center
- 350,000+ attendees at Foundation‑supported events including the DowntownDC Holiday Market, Kids World, Jazz & Blossoms, and Bike to Work Day
- A Sustainable Communities Grant from Pepco, administered by Sustainable Maryland, to support a new solar kiosk project in a Downtown DC park, scheduled to be unveiled in FY2026
FY2025 also marked leadership growth for the Foundation with the addition of Nora Abramson, Chief Strategy Officer at The Tower Companies, and Liz DeBarros, CEO of the DC Building Industry Association, to the Board of Directors, strengthening strategic, real estate, and policy expertise as the Foundation continues to evolve.
Operational support from the DowntownDC Business Improvement District allows the Foundation to direct 100% of charitable donations and sponsorships to programs and community impact.
