The DowntownDC Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Nora Abramson to its board of directors.
Abramson currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at The Tower Companies, where she is focused on internal operations, strategy and people systems, sustainability initiatives, marketing and communications, and residential property management.
“As someone who cares deeply about the future of DC and its residents, I’m honored to join the DowntownDC Foundation board,” said Abramson. “I am excited to support the Foundation’s mission to uplift the DowntownDC community, grow its economy, and help DowntownDC enter this next phase of its development.”
With more than 15 years of experience in community-centered innovation, education policy, and nonprofit leadership, Abramson has held key roles with the New York City Department of Education and served on numerous nonprofit boards across the Washington, D.C. metro area.
“Nora brings a wealth of exceptional experience in community development, strategic communications, and policy innovation—expertise that aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance the vibrancy and inclusivity of DowntownDC,” said Foundation Chair of the board of directors Gigi Murphy. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the board and look forward to the insight, leadership, and energy she brings.”
Abramson joins a dedicated board of directors who lead the DowntownDC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit launched by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) in 2019. The DowntownDC Foundation serves and celebrates our vibrant and diverse DowntownDC community by providing homeless services, revitalizing parks, and enhancing public spaces and experiences.
