The DowntownDC Foundation is pleased to welcome Satchel Kaplan-Allen as the newest member of its board of directors.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the DowntownDC Foundation and to assume this new role at a very pivotal time for the city in which I was born and raised,” said Kaplan-Allen.
As Chief of Staff at José Andrés Group, Kaplan-Allen oversees strategic engagement for Chef José Andrés, his celebrated collective of more than 30 restaurants and its recently launched media company, and a growing multitude of philanthropic and humanitarian efforts.
“Satchel will be a tremendous asset to the Foundation in the homeless services space, parks, as well as for events as we build on our existing work to benefit our community for years to come,” said Board Chair Gigi Murphy.
Kaplan-Allen joins a dedicated group of board members for the DowntownDC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was launched by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) in 2019. The DowntownDC Foundation serves and celebrates our vibrant and diverse DowntownDC community by providing homeless services, revitalizing parks, and enhancing public spaces and experiences.
