The DowntownDC Foundation made major strides in its third year of operation, detailed in the organization’s impact report for fiscal year 2022 (Oct. 1, 2021-Sept. 20, 2022). A total of 12,750 individuals last year received services at the state-of-the-art Downtown Day Services Center (DDSC) facility, which is operated by the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) and supported by annual funding from the DC Department of Human Services.
“We’re in the heart of DowntownDC in our nation’s capital. Since we’re on the national stage, it’s even more important for us to set an example for the rest of the country,” said Lead Facility Assistant at the DDSC Michael Bunn.
The Foundation, first launched in October 2019, successfully piloted a dental and mental health clinic for individuals experiencing homelessness, supported free family events in Franklin Park, continued its successful “Welcome Home Kit” program to support the transition from homelessness to housing and more.
